Getting Started
BC2Fabric
BC2Fabric delivers a managed connection between Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Microsoft Fabric. It makes operational data available for analytics, reporting, and automation without custom integration projects.
What BC2Fabric provides
- Ready-to-use data pipelines. Automated processes move Business Central entities into Microsoft Fabric Lakehouse.
- Business-ready semantic models. Prebuilt Power BI datasets and reports accelerate insights for finance, sales, purchasing, and inventory teams.
- Flexible extensibility. Include custom tables and fields from Business Central to tailor analytics to your organization's needs.
- Secure operations. Azure Key Vault integration keeps application credentials protected while the solution runs inside your Microsoft tenant.
How it works
- Install the BC2Fabric extension in your Business Central environment.
- Authorize the solution with Microsoft Entra ID and store secrets in Azure Key Vault.
- Deploy the managed workload in Microsoft Fabric to create pipelines and reports.
- Monitor refreshes and build your own models based on the mirrored tables.
With these pieces in place, BC2Fabric keeps your Fabric workspace synchronized with operational data so you can build advanced analytics, automate processes, and share insights across the business.
Benefit from BC2Fabric
- Near Real-Time Data Sync. Automatically stream all relevant data from Business Central into Microsoft Fabric without delays.
- Seamless integration with full Fabric and OneLake capabilities. Synchronized Business Central tables function like native Fabric tables, that can be queried, are secure, and ready for use with Power BI Direct Lake, semantic models, and AI tools.
- Multi-Company Integration. Combine data from multiple companies into one central data platform.
- Augment with External Data. Extend your Business Central data by merging it with other sources in Microsoft Fabric — for deeper, smarter analysis.
- Instant Reporting with Power BI. Build live, near real-time dashboards and reports directly on top of your Microsoft Fabric lakehouse. No additional data movement is required thanks to Fabric's Direct Lake Mode.
- Extensive content. Around 10.000 fields from 250 most relevant Business Central tables are available out-of-the-box. The content can easily be extended by additional tables and fields.
- Easily build your custom reports. As a result of having all relevant Business Central data available in the lakehouse, developing new Power BI data models and reports becomes much faster and easier.
- Zero Coding Required. Fully configurable with an intuitive interface — no developers needed.
